Rhetoric I
Prof. G. Steinberg
Extra Credit
Over the next few class meetings, you and your classmates will be giving speeches. Feedback is going to be very important, both for each speaker and for each listener. The more feedback you get about your speech, the more you can learn to improve your performance. The more feedback you give about other people's speeches, the more you can learn from their example about what to do (and, sometimes, what not to do).
So, each of the days that you and your classmates are giving speeches, I will ask everyone in class to provide some feedback to each of the speakers for the day. For each speech, everyone in class will write down at least one specific thing that was really good in the speech and at least one specific suggestion for improvement. At the end of the class meeting, the speakers for the day will collect what their classmates have written down for them.
You will receive 1 extra-credit point for participating on the day you yourself give your speech. You will receive 2 extra-credit points for participating any other day.
