Choose 10-12 lines from the reading assignment for today.  Prepare your chosen lines to read out loud in class in the original Middle English.  Be sure to choose a group of lines that constitute a complete thought; don't break off or begin in mid-sentence.  Also, try to choose a passage that has some interesting feature(s).  Prepare a word-for-word translation of your ten or so lines to turn in to me.  Also, include with your translation a brief commentary (1/2 page at the most) that explains what you found interesting about the lines you chose.

NOTE:  You may repeat this assignment twice in the course of the semester for a total of 10 points -- that is, you may do a Middle English reading as a participation assignment twice (but only twice) out of the four opportunities listed in the course schedule.
