Eac hit gelamp sume dæge þæt þa gebroþru timbredon þæs mynstres hus.  And þa læg þær an stan tomiddes, þone hi mynton hebban upp on þæs huses timbrunge, ac hine ne mihton twegen men ne þry onstyrian.  Þa eodon þær ma manna to, ac he swa þeah wunode fæst and unwendedlic.  And eac hit openlice mihte beon ongyten þæt se feond sæt ofer þam stane, þone ne mihton swa manigra wera handa onstyrian.  Þa wæs sended to þam Godes were, and þa broþru bædon þæt he come and mid his gebedum þone feond onweg adrive.  Þa sona swa se Godes wer þider com, he dyde þær his gebed.  And þa wearþ se stan mid swa mycelre hrædnesse upp ahafen, swylce he ær nænige hefignysse on him næfde.
