In a five-minute speech, present to the class a formal proposal for your research project for the semester. This proposal is for real. From your presentation, your fellow students and I will decide whether or not you will be allowed to pursue research on the topic you've chosen. You must persuade us that your research is of interest to us and is important enough to merit our time and consideration.
Your fellow students and I will vote anonymously after your speech to approve or reject your proposal.
Keep in mind that your speech will also be graded based on my usual grading criteria for speeches.
You may use visuals to assist you in your presentation, but visuals are not required for this speech.
