Michael I, King of Montenegro (1908- ). Succeeded as head of the dynasty in 1921 on the abdication of his uncle, King Danilo I (below), and reigned in exile under a regency until the dissolution of the monarchy in 1922. Married in Paris on January 27, 1941. Refused an offer of the throne of Montenegro by his uncle, King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy, in 1941.
