Duarte Nuno, Infante of Portugal, Duke of Braganca (1907- ). Succeeded as head of the house of Braganca and as claimant to the throne of Portugal in 1932 on the death of his cousin, King Manoel II of Portugal (see below). Considered as a potential Carlist claimant to the throne of Spain upon the death in 1936 of his uncle, Infante Alfonso Carlos (I) of Spain, Duke of San Jaime. Married on October 13, 1942 (civil), at Rio de Janeiro and on October 15, 1942 (religious), at Petropolis.
